Summer Youth Stipends
Socio-economic inequities in East Brooklyn have been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Our community has some of the highest infection rates in NYC and has been disproportionately affected by the economic slowdown. This is further exacerbated by the impact of the cancelation of the Summer Youth Employment Program leaving 75,000 young people across our city without experience building summer employment. Join the Youth Design Center (formerly Made in Brownsville) and America on Tech in providing stipends for our summer programs. We currently have 40 paid spots for our Tech Camps. Help us reach 30 more young people by donating today!
We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit on a mission to reduce the number of disconnected youth by lowering their barriers to entry to the STEAM professions and increasing their relevant experience in the innovation economy. Your donation is 100% tax deductible.
The need to connect young people in East Brooklyn with design and tech job skills and opportunities is all the more pressing due to the volatility of current economic circumstances. We have launched our Tech Camp and Virtual Studios programming in response to the disruptions caused by social distancing measures, allowing us to continue our long-term investment in local youth.
This moment also calls for immediate and direct measures toward alleviating financial burdens faced by our community. Make a one-time donation or a monthly commitment to support our ongoing work.
Together we can fuel the hope to help uplift our youth. Donate today!
