Digital Makers Club

The Digital Makers Club is a 6-week program where youth (ages 14–17) explore digital media, design, and storytelling while creating content that amplifies YDC’s mission.

Participants gain hands-on experience with professional cameras, audio equipment, and Adobe Creative Cloud, guided by staff and mentors in a collaborative, youth-driven environment.

Create. Collaborate. Get Paid.

Each participant will receive a bi-weekly stipend based on attendance and project completion. Students are encouraged to work on YDC-related media, such as content for our social media, a youth-led podcast, or digital newsletters that highlight youth voices. They are also encouraged to work on personal creative projects with our token system outside of club hours.

During the first three weeks, participants will receive guided training on camera, audio, podcasting equipment, and Adobe software. Afterward, students will have the freedom to use YDC’s Media Lab to develop projects with the support of mentors and peers.

The club also features a token system, where participants earn tokens for active participation. Tokens can be exchanged for open lab time to use YDC’s desktops, Adobe software, and studio equipment for personal projects, homework, or gaming.

At the end of the program, students will celebrate their work with a pizza party and mini showcase, sharing what they’ve created and learned.
