Talent ON DISPLAY at MoMA
Our students’ genius is on exhibition! Right now at the Museum of Modern Art through July. The exhibition Architecture Now: New York, New Publics features the incredible New Public Hydrant display designed by Tei Carpenter and Chris Woebken. It features full-scale models designed by two of YDC's participants, Isaac Scotland and Chimere Francis, and footage from our participants who contributed during our 'Water Is' workshop at YDC.
The New York, New Publics investigates various strategies devised by architects that engage in new ways with New York City's shared spaces. The inventive exhibition envisions a future in which architecture creates more accessible, sustainable, and equitable cities.
ENY FArms + ydc volunteer event
YDC teamed up with ENY Farms to help them clean and replant at a local community garden in Brooklyn. Staff, alumni, and our freelancers showed up.
Healing Pods
The Community Sanctuary focuses on the idea of shared healing, self-expression and an archive of feelings. The greenhouse is a container and infrastructure for different expressions of release. Through the act of writing or drawings, storytelling, and sharing healing objects, the community creates a safe space for expression together.
